PNG stands for Piped Natural Gas and is popularly used in both domestic and industrial sectors. PNG primarily comprises of Methane with small percentage of combustible hydrocarbons. The entire composition of PNG is very active and burns almost completely making it a very eco-friendly energy alternative. True to its name PNG can be easily transported through a network of pipelines, making it a virtually seamless in terms of supply.
Natural gas is lighter than air and hence in case of a leakage it just rises and disperses into thin air provided there is adequate ventilation. PNG is also virtually odorless and colorless. Ethyl Mercaptan is usually added to PNG composition to detect any leakages and avoid hazards.
